Dove Brother Receive Award!

The 4th Annual SGM FanFair Fan Awards sponsored by the Christian Voice Magazine was held Thursday April 3, 2008 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The Dove Brothers were honored by taking home the 2008 Favorite Male Quartet of the Year!  Although the Dove Brothers could not attend the awards show, they are extremely honored by the news.  Thanks to everyone who voted for us and have shown your support in what we do.  We love you all!

New Dove Brothers Release!

The Dove Brothers have released their first single off of the brand new recording titled "Life".  The first single to hit radio is a song called "You Don't Know God's Love".  It was reported that it entered into the Singing News Charts at #44 and eneter in the Gospel Music News Charts at #67.  The song was originaly recorded by Ronnie Milsap and was titled "You Don't Know My Love".  McCray Dove re-wrote some of it and got permission to use it this way with the changing of it to "You Don't Know God's Love" and the rest is history! You can read McCray's thoughts on the song in our Songspiration section.

The song is going over very well in our concerts and we are even seeing people sing along with it.  From young to the older generations, this is a song that is different but still fits the Dove Brothers style.  So make sure you call your local radio stations and request "You Don't Know God's Love".

Dove Brothers Homecoming 2008!

The Dove Brothers Homecoming was a huge success this year!  There was standing room only in what used to be the Dove Brothers High School Auditorium (now the middle school).  Our special guests Unity Quartet opened up the program and did a great job!  We will be with them February 21st in Hartsville, South Carolina at the Civic Center.  Next up was the Marksmen Quartet.  They were outstanding as always.  They will be back opening up our Homecoming next year!  Don't forget about the Marksmen Quartet's Annual Homecoming, May 24, 2008 in Clinton, North Carolina featuring the Inspirations and the Dove Brothers along with the host group the Marksmen Quartet.

Larry DeLawder, who does a great imitation of Barney Fife was in rare form that night.  A fun time was had by all in attendence while Larry performed.  He is a very talented man with a great ministry.  After Larry finished up, it was time for the Dixie Melody Boys to take the stage and they did in a very classy manner.  Ed Oneal is one of the smoothest bass singers performing today and it was a blast to have them at our homecoming concert!

The Dove Brothers were brought up to the stage by our very own Mayor of Bladenboro.  The State of North Carolina presented the Dove Brothers with the Ambassadors of Good Will award for the state of North Carolina.  They were very honored to accept and receive this award and are very proud to represent the town of Bladenboro and their home state of North Carolina!

After the intermission, the Dixie Melody Boys, Larry DeLawder and the Dove Brothers sang a few songs together as well as the Dove Brothers singing Get Away Jordan.

Make your plans NOW for the Dove Brothers 7th Annual Homecoming!  March 6 & 7, 2009.  March 6 (Friday night) we will bring back the Dixie Melody Boys and Larry DeLawder.  March 7 (Saturday night) we will be bringing in the Lewis Family, the Easter Brothers and Jeff & Sheri Easter presenting their Family Tour that is starting this year!  You are going to be in for a treat!  Friday night will start at 7pm and Saturday night will start at 6pm.  So start making your plans today for next years Dove Brothers Homecoming 2009!

LIFE

The Dove Brothers will soon be celebrating 10 years singing the Gospel. We have recorded 12 cds and our 13th one will be out soon. I am proud of all of the projects that we have recorded but I feel that our latest project called Life will be our best yet. I feel that we have songs that will deal with todays promblems and will show the world that the answer is the same answer, Jesus. You may ask what style is it?  Well, its the Dove Brothers. We record what we feel and we don't label it by style but by who we are and what we feel. Most of all, what we feel the Lord would have us to record. We feel that this new project is something fresh but still carries the foundation of quartet singing but going forward. We were listing to songs for months but nothing had what we were feeling and then I began to write songs that fit what we were looking for and so did Jerry Kelso. The four songs I wrote are Still Got A Feeling, Smooth Sailing, You Would Think He Would Learn and co wrote After The Storm with Jerry Kelso . I also rewrote the song You Don't Know Gods Love which was orignally named You Don't Know My Love.  That song was originally recorded by Ronnie Milsap. Can you believe that they gave me permission to do that?  Well they did and it will be our first single. The sad part is I want get any credit for it but thats okay.  The message is what is important. I am proud of all the guys. They sang there hearts out and I feel the singing was the best I have ever heard them do in the studio.  If you want a cd that will lift you up, speak to your heart and also make you think , then you have got to get the cd Life!

What Others Are Saying:
Jason Crabb - This is the album that is going to make you smile, cry, and touch your soul.  Not only that, it is the one that everyone is going to want.  This is my favorite yet!

Roger Talley - Good music, sang very well, interesting and thought provoking songs.

Jeff Easter - The Dove Brothers have finally recorded an album that I will listen to.

Booth Brothers - Every recording artist desires to reach a higher level of quality with each new recording. The Dove Brothers have accomplished and even surpassed any goal they could have set for themselves.

Michael, Jim, & Ronnie

Brian Free - Your new project is VERY good!  You guys are carving your own groove out here, That I like.  Your material is fresh, the vocals are strong and each individual personality comes out on the solo's.  I like the fact that some of your songs deal with the here and now.  We need to give each other encouragement and hope NOW, so that we can work for the kingdom to come.  I
know heaven's going to be wonderful because the word tells me so, but I and millions of other Christians need hope for the present. This project is in a great direction for the Dove Brothers Quartet.
